April is National Volunteer Month, and Walk in Sunshine Charity would like to thank all volunteers who give the gift of time and service to our communities. An estimated 1 billion people give their time to help others around the world, which is equivalent to the work of almost 109 million full-time employees. According to Volunteer Hub, Americans spend 50 hours a year on volunteer work. It is a way to meet new people and can be used to discover a new interest. Lastly, promoting volunteerism among our youth can pave the way for a fulfilling career. Volunteering is a way to spread the gifts or technical skills a person may have.
Walk in Sunshine has benefitted from the generosity of the RWJ foundation, which pays for NJ 501c3s to help them find volunteers on the platform catchafire (https://rwjf.catchafire.org/). WIS has used catchafire to find volunteers who help with particular tasks. We thank the RWJ Foundation for providing us access to catchafire.

While the loss of a child stays with a parent forever, Walk In Sunshine hopes to raise awareness that resources are available for families who have experienced the passion of their child. For families residing in New Jersey who have lost a child, we also provide financial assistance to help offset the cost of funeral arrangements.
Walk in Sunshine is a Section 501(c) (3) charitable organization based in Westfield, New Jersey. All donations are deemed tax-deductible absent any limitations on deductibility applicable to a particular taxpayer. No goods or services were provided in exchange for your contribution.
